Animation Laboratory

In the Animation Laboratory, we develop and facilitate workshops on stop-motion animation for school classes and children families. Our workshops especially focus on giving the children a chance to try out the creative process and to learn about idea development by making their own stop-motion movie. We have broad and deep teaching experience, including from a four-year collaboration with the BUSTER Children’s Film Festival.

Animation workshop

During a workshop we give a basic introduction to the animation medium and the stop-motion technique. We teach figure building, storytelling, storyboarding and image composition. The films are animated with an iPad on a table or on the floor - a workshop can therefore easily be organized in different rooms.

Course for school classes

A workshop can be included in a number of subjects and the theme can be organized as an extension of a course you are already working with in class. We take the EMU learning objectives for visual arts and Danish as our starting point in planning and implementing our workshop courses.
